Where Hygiene Counts:

Unlike standard motors, the Marlin Stainless range has no cooling fins, no paint to chip or flake and no surface that will rust.
 
This means that waste products can be washed away easilty leaving no residue and the motor can be used with confidence in food processing areas - even the rating plate is engraved on the outer casing to reduce areas where bacteria can lurk.

Clean in Place:

When food, beverage or phamaceutical production plants are washed down, the motors - along with other parts - are often subjected to high pressure jets (sometimes at high temperatures) or even more aggressive cleaning agents.
This is time consuming and can cause damage to the motor, or even contaminate the end product - but not with a Marlin stainless motor or gearbox.

Washdown Tolerant:

Rated to IP66 standards, the Marlin Stainless range is a proven design for CIP areas and washdown situations.

A double lip seal and a second GAMMA seal fitted on the shaft is one example of the attention to detail for potential ingress areas of the motor

TEFC and TENV:

Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled motors need air blown over the motor for cooling - the standard for 1.1kW motors and above.

Totally Enclosed Non Ventilated motors (up to 0.75W in the Marlin range) are used where people need ultra-hygienic clean lines. The surface temperature is cooler thanks to the additional internal active material when compared to their TEFC equivalent.

Beats Corrosion:

All external components, incuding motor shaft, are manufactured in 300 series stainless steel.

This gives excellent resistance to corrosion. There's no paint to flake off and being chemical proof it gives you a durable solution where hygiene is essential.

Magnetic Cartridge Seal:

The compact precision-lapped, face-contact mechanical seal is optimised to prevent water intrusion from high-pressure hoses and the effects of pooling liquid on vertically mounted motors - so ideal for Vertical Shaft and Up Applications

The magnetically aligning faces can tolerate greater misalignment and vibration than the standard sealing solutions, which results in extenderd bearing life.
