Reduced Maintenance Costs
Improved motor life reduces production down time.
- With an IP66 rating, there is minimal dust and water ingress.
- For internal protection against moisture, and to provide compatibility with inverter control, the Marlin motor stator windings are double vacuum and pressure impregnated and phases are insulated.
- Inherent condensation problems are associated with ALL electric motors exposed to internal and external temperature differences, the Marlin motors have four quadrant drain ports in each end shield that will accept ‘T’ drain plugs on removal of grub screws. This ensures that there will always be a drain plug at the lowest point of the motor.
Time can be reduced for washdown by removing the need for motor "bagging" (which has a knock-on hygene benefit).
Improved Hygene
The smooth body and stainless steel construction minimise dirt traps and ease cleaning (which has a knock-on cost saving benefit).
As stated by the HSE; "Ensure appropriate materials are used in the machine construction - there may be a balance between ease of access for effective cleaning indicating ordinary steel could be used and lack of access indicating stainless steel could be used".
